Introduction
Hi my name is Tassie Munroe and I am sophomore at TCU. I am originally from Waco, Texas, but I decided to come to TCU because I was offered a position on their Women's Equestrian Team. I am taking this course to fulfill my a core requirement; however, because this is the only English course that I plan to take at TCU, I hope it will help me with my major. I am currently a Political Science and Public Relations double major. In both of those fields, I will have to write a great deal, so I am hoping that this course prepares me well for that. Because I have not taken an English class since my senior year in high school, I feel that my writing skills have suffered a great deal. In my everyday life here at TCU, I find that the only type of writing that I do is through informal emails, text messages, or informative essays, in which my professors could care the least about my writing skills. I hope that this class will refresh my writing capacity and make it more correct and engaging. I have also read, understand, and agree to the terms of the syllabus for this course.

I think that's it's really neat that you are on the Equestrian Team. You must love doing that and be really good at it since you are on a collegiate team. I know there is a lot of competition. I'm on the Rifle Team. I see that there is also a picture on this page. I figure that it is either with a friend or family member that you care dearly about. The background is purple with maybe a pink tint. I'll guess that this is either a color you like or it's because you're surrounded with this color at TCU. The fonts are all really simple so either you like them or have just not changed them. The white print for the main text makes it easy to read on the dark background. I like the blue and green colored text too. Your title definitely gives your blog a personal feel as you have put the word 'thoughts' in it.
ReplyDeleteTassie you sound like a nice girl, that's really interesting your on the equestrian team. It looks like you are making an argument of how you want to learn and improve your writing skills. Your name, your blog, the colors, text, title and content of the blog argued you are a girl because they are feminine. I can relate to you in the fact that I also hope this course can improve my writing because it's an area I am not strong in either. The only writing I do is through informal emails, text messages, or informative essays also.
ReplyDeleteTassie you seem very outgoing and you have a very organized plan of what you would like to do. You are honest about your writing skills but you are also determined to make them better. I am the same way with writing, I usually only write in texts and emails. I think this applies to a lot of people which shows you can relate to others in at least that way.
ReplyDeleteBased on the background color of this page I'm assuming that Tassie is very girlie or maybe she just chose purple because of TCU, so she is very spirited. She has a picture of her and her friend so I guess she cares about her friends a lot. The title of her blog is Tassie's Thoughts which kind of just says normal about it. Based on reading her intro on herself I would say she has the same expectations of this class as a lot of other people, which is that she is just taking it because it is required, but she wants to have a good time with it, pretty much the same opinion that I have of this course. Overall I make her out to be a happy, friendly person.
ReplyDeleteHi Tassie,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the course. I'm glad you have you with us and am excited to read more of your writing throughout the semester. I'd like to hear more about this Equestrian team-- I had no idea TCU had one. I learn so much from my students about this university!
